Hand Drawn Assignment for Rendering Class

For some reason, part of our first assignment in rendering class included making a hand drawn colored image based on a photorealistic image from the internet. I chose the famous shot from the Avatar: Way of Water trailer. I haven't bothered to actually see the film yet, but this shot was interesting. For those unaware, it sparked a discussion as to whether or not the hands were CGI. Many guessed the water was real and the hands were CGI. In fact, the hands were real human skin painted to have subsurface scattering while the water and surrounding environment were completely simulated.

I gave myself an hour to copy the image as best as possible. Then I called it and turned it in.

God be with me. Lord help me this year and always. I need you. I love you. Amen.

Vin from Mistborn

Some copy paper came out of the printer blank with ink marks all over it at my workplace, and I was told to recycle them. It seemed like a waste of good paper, so I drew on them. These are some drawings I did of the character Vin from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Saga. Her hair is honestly a little long in these, unless these are supposed to be from the second book. In the first book, her hair barely gets long enough to where it looks like a choice rather than having grown out from being cut short.

Vin captivated my imagination because she's itty-bitty small, but she has the powers of a superhero.

The above picture was also drawn on letter paper in church, and is an older drawing. You can see one of my notes above it, "action of cape is wrong". In this first drawing, I forgot the Mistborn are often described as going barefoot. She could also have more tension in her expression. In official art, the cloaks are shown as having a scarf around their neck as well.

God bless everyone. God's will be done. I commit all of these to you. Amen.

Sketches from Church

These are some of the sketches I've done while I'm at church. What can I say? Services are long.

Here's a version of Lauren!

Apologies for the drawings behind the sketches. There's a reason I don't often use these composition journals for sketching anymore.

God bless everyone. God save us all. God's will be done.

Card of Sennaar

This is a card I made for my dad based on the amazing game, Chants of Sennar. For anyone not familiar, the game is about decoding languages based on context. It's extremely well executed. I wish more games were like it.

I had the opportunity to watch my dad play this game. It was a very special experience for me.

God bless you all. I love you. God's will be done for me.
