Aliya from Hero Hop

This character's name is Aliya. She is a character in a story I've been thinking about. I drew her once, and then I wanted to practice pushing her pose to make it better. I'm much more satisfied with this final drawing (above), than I am with the first. I've included the drawings in reverse order of when they were drawn.

Aliya's design is inspired primarily by Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII, with a few major changes. Mostly, I'm just happy with the progression here.

God's will be done. Help me with all of this. Thank you, God. Amen.

Classes Start, Sketchbook Out

I suddenly find myself with a lot more quality time with my sketchbook, because classes have started again. So many meetings. Anyway, the above picture is for more practice drawing multiple people in the same scene. If there's one major complaint I have with this picture, it's that their heads are not consistent sizes. Well, that's what practice is for.

The next few drawings are actually all characters from the D&D game I'm running at the library I work at. God is good.

This first character is named Odie. Don't let her appearance fool you. She's really nice. I'm interested in making horrifying monsters that are actually cool people. Odie's character design was inspired mainly by the eponymous character from the indie game Gnarled Hag by Pompasaur. I can recommend the game to anyone who doesn't like peaceful dreams.

These are Nana and Lightspeed. Nana is the shorter one. Lightspeed is Nana's assistant, sort of in the vain of Igor or Kronk. Lightspeed is an ironic nickname that Nana gave her. This design is only a first pass. I would want to draw them again if this was anything official, and Nana should be much shorter.

Finally, this guy. He is actually an antagonist. I tried to imitate what I remembered of the character Vulcan Haestus from the Studio Trigger film Promare. I think I captured his spirit even if not the details of his design.

God be with me in my classes and always. I love you. Amen.
