I Have No Title, and I Must Post

As for the title of this post, I felt like being funny and a little macabre today. It's a reference to a short story, "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream", by Harlan Ellison which I wouldn't recommend to anyone under 18 and anyone who doesn't like nightmares. Anyway, the title of this post is just meant to be funny. "I don't know. I'm tired."

This is Janet, from one of my short stories listed earlier in this blog. I messed up her proportions, but I'm pretty happy with this. I might want to color this picture later just so I can see her hair color.

These next two pictures (the ones immediately above and below) are inspired by characters from the game Battle For Wesnoth. I highly recommend it.

And finally we have this picture from a few days ago. Just something fun. I like the proportions and posing on this figure.

I love you all. And above everything else, I love you, God. Be with me always, please.

A D&D Character, a Comic Character, and a Throwback All Walk Into...

It's summer. I'm still steadily practicing my character drawing, trying to achieve more consistency with less references. Here are some highlights.

This first drawing I did based on my memory of the character Hogarth Hughes from the classic film The Iron Giant without reference. Obviously, I got a lot of stuff wrong, and I'm okay with that. If I hadn't done this drawing in pen, I could've redone the arms.
Here you can see the original reference drawing I made to make corrections before I did the full-size version. And I still managed to mess the arms up. No sweat.
This is a drawing I made of the movie version of the character America Chavez from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Again, this was done without reference. The character is at least recognizable, so that's a good thing.

This is the first Dungeons and Dragons character I've played that I've ever been inspired enough to draw. This is, as the text implies, Aerwyna called "Winnie." She's a pirate. I also call her "the very scary elf lady," because of her impressive score in Intimidation (which is a D&D Skill for those unaware). Aerwyna was the first character that I felt the other players at the table enjoyed her as much as I did. She had a good dynamic with the rest of the cast, and an interesting backstory that I enjoyed playing with. She's a redhead, and she's a complete mess. I always like doing something different with fantasy race and class stereotypes with my characters, and I thought it would be interesting to explore what it would be like for a half-elf who grew up in a stereotypical elf background to run away and become a pirate. Obviously, no one who would do that is a very well adjusted person.

Overall, I'm proud of the progress I'm making on proportions and body shape. Still a long way to go, but that doesn't matter as much as making progress.

I'm doing a few things this summer, but mostly I'm just waiting for things to happen. Not a bad place to be, I just feel like the world is catching up with me. Oh well. I'm helping a lot of people at the library, so that's good enough work for me. God doesn't require us to work, so any amount of making other people's lives a little easier is icing on the cake.

God be with me. I love you. Lord watch over me and save me.
